Things I had to re-learn today

Today the universe has felt the need to remind me of a few general truths.
1. Never, ever, EVER take a baby anywhere without a diaper bag. It doesn't matter that you only are going to be there for 30 minutes. Those 30 minutes will be the time that the child decides to barf (twice) and poop (explosively).

2. You can never buy enough white thread. Just have as much of it as you can store in the closet and you won't have to stop a project until you can get to the store by yourself (unlikely) or take the children with you (suicide).

3. Multicolor thread is expensive and comes in very small quantities. Don't expect a spool to do as much as you want it to. ever. It doesn't matter if it looks like a normal sized spool. It isn't.

4. You can never have enough fabric. Look at what arrived in the mail today! I love it! I have no idea what I'm going to use it for.

  1. OH. MY. Maybe you could stash an emergency diaper in the glove compartment or something.

My white thread disappears at an alarming rate-- where does it all go?

  2. I love it too! Nice pick. Sorry about the poop. And the barf. If it makes you feel any better, I was put in my place today by a very unhappy rich lady.

  3. yep I remember those days well. Thankfully now those babies of mine carry their own bags (purses) and if they barf etc its not my concern. I did love my baby days....but I'm really loving these days too.
I buy cones of white thread and I'm still out and you're right you can never have too much fabric :)

  4. We had the same day, only mine didn't involve any barf. Luckily, Babies R Us sells an emergency diaper kit with 1 diaper and 6 wipes for $2. Best $2 I've ever spent!

  5. I ALWAYS forget the diaper bag. Or the wipes. Or both. I've been known to wet a napkin in an emergency at McD. Love that princess and the pea from far far away. I've been wondering how it feels, double gauze and all.
